If you want a structured hospital volunteer experience, THP’s volunteer program is designed for people who want to support patients and visitors while building real community service experience. Volunteers are described as part of delivering compassionate care and helping the hospital environment feel welcoming and supportive. THP also clearly outlines expectations up front: volunteers must be at least 16 at time of application, commit to 60 hours over about 6 to 8 months, and complete one shift per week.
